N.J. Lawyer Censured For Assaulting Teen After Road Encounter

A New Jersey attorney who assaulted and bullied a 17-year-old who chided the lawyer for driving on the wrong side of the street was censured by the state’s highest court.

Censure is “the appropriate quantum of discipline for respondent’s unethical behavior,” the New Jersey Supreme Court said June 1, rejecting its disciplinary review board’s recommendation of a three-month suspension.

There were conflicting accounts of who started the fight but a video taken by the teen’s friend “clearly illustrates that, once the altercation had concluded, respondent remained aggressive,” threatening to fight the teen again and to send him to juvenile court ...
