Elon Musk Unlikely to Pause OpenAI’s For-Profit Conversion (1)

Elon Musk faces an uphill battle in his effort to win a court order blocking OpenAI Inc. and its CEO Sam Altman from converting the nonprofit AI firm into a for-profit company, a federal judge in Oakland, Calif., said at a Tuesday hearing.

“It is extraordinary relief, it is extraordinary relief,” Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said of Musk’s request for a preliminary injunction. “For me to say as a matter of law that you should be granted relief in this kind of environment is a stretch.”
