MoonPay CFO Must Face Claims He Helped Dupe Investor, Judge Says

Claims may proceed against the chief financial officer of cryptocurrency payment processor MoonPay Inc. in a lawsuit alleging its backers duped an early investor, a Delaware judge ruled Thursday.

Max Crown acted “sort of like the getaway driver” for two other executives of HODL Venture Capital named in the lawsuit, Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster said, ruling from the bench to deny Crown’s motion to dismiss.

“Maybe that’s not true,” he said. “I don’t know what’s ultimately going to happen in this case, but I do think there’s a pleading stage claim here.”
