Microsoft, Google Sued for Copying Fingerprint Log-In Concept

Proxense LLC has accused Microsoft Corp. and Google LLC of ripping off its biometric authentication technology that lets users log onto mobile electronic devices by scanning their fingerprints or faces.

In separate federal patent infringement lawsuits, Proxense claimed the two companies built on its Open ID Connect system to create secure biometric authentication features that enable Microsoft’s Identity Platform and Google Identity, which let users skip “guessable and crackable” passwords and PIN numbers.
