The Michigan Supreme Court rebranded its diversity, equity, and inclusion commission, with one of its co-chairing justices writing that the acronym associated with the concept became a “political lightning rod.”
The formerly-named Commission on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Michigan Judiciary is now named the Commission on Fairness and Public Trust in the Michigan Judiciary. The change from the court, which liberals control 6-1, was made via an amended administrative order issued Nov. 26.
