A former member of the Michigan House of Representatives involved in an extramarital affair with another ex-member can’t proceed with a lawsuit against the staffers who exposed the scandal, after the Sixth Circuit found no constitutional violation.
Former Rep. Todd Courser (R) failed to allege what liberty interest he was deprived of that would constitute a due process violation, the court said.
Courser was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives when he had an affair with then-fellow Rep. Cindy Gamrat (R), the court said.
