Miami Springs Resident Wins Revival of ADA Lawsuit Against City

A resident of Miami Springs, Fla., convinced the Eleventh Circuit Friday to revive his lawsuit accusing the city of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by failing to make its facilities accessible to disabled people.

In 2008, after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Theodore D. Karantsalis sued the city under Title II of the ADA. He voluntarily dismissed that suit based on a lack of standing, because his symptoms were mild and didn’t prevent him from accessing the city’s programs and services.
