MetLife’s Treatment of Female VP Not Discrimination, Retaliation

A former vice president at MetLife Group Inc., didn’t convince the Eleventh Circuit Friday that the company discriminated against her on the basis of her sex or retaliated against her for complaining about it.

Marybeth Lukie worked in MetLife’s enterprise risk management group in Morristown, N.J. Though she generally received good reviews, she said that she was relegated to doing administrative tasks that her male peers weren’t asked to do. She also said that the male VPs with whom she worked received more pay than she did.
