McDonnell Case Could Shape Corruption Law

The Department of Justice is set to respond by Dec. 8 to former Virginia Gov. Robert McDonnell’s petition for U.S. Supreme Court review of his conviction on corruption charges (McDonnell v. U.S., U.S., 15-474, government response due 10/13/15).

While U.S. Solicitor General Donald Verrilli is expected to ask the justices to leave McDonnell’s conviction intact, the high court already has signaled it may take the former governor’s case.
