McConnell Tells Top Court Not to Be ‘Cowed’ by Democrats on Guns

U.S. Senate Republicans accused five Democratic colleagues of threatening the Supreme Court with political retribution in an extraordinary clash over what is set to be the court’s first case on gun rights in a decade.

In a letter to the court that used language normally reserved for the political arena, the 53 Republicans said the Democrats were threatening to add additional justices to the court if it doesn’t drop the gun-rights case as moot.
