The Montgomery County Board of Education has reached a settlement to end a legal challenge to its policy that prohibited parents from excusing their children from instruction involving LGBTQ+-themed books in schools.
Montgomery County Public Schools spokesperson Liliana López confirmed in an email to Bloomberg Law Friday that it agreed to pay $1.5 million to the parents who brought the suit.
