Marshals Didn’t Survey Judges Before Security Redo, Report Says

The US Marshals Service disregarded a recommendation that it gather input from judges before revamping its home security system program, the Justice Department’s inspector general said Tuesday.

The report by the Department of Justice’s inspector general is the first since the Marshals updated its Home Intrusion Detection System program for judges to install home security systems, after the watchdog found it offered “outdated” equipment. Judges can now select their own security systems and be reimbursed up to a certain amount.
