A male New York University student, whose name was published on an anonymous Google spreadsheet that was circulated on campus and accused him of sexual misconduct, saw his sex discrimination claim against the university dismissed by a federal court.

John Doe sued NYU and two of its officials under Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments, claiming that it discriminated against him by not identifying and disciplining the individuals behind the allegations.
