Lowered Duties on South Korean Line Pipe Upheld on Appeal

Lowered U.S. antidumping duty rates on certain imports of welded line pipe from South Korea will remain in place, after the Federal Circuit on Friday affirmed that the Commerce Department lacked the authority to address “particular market situations” in foreign countries in the way it did.

The U.S. imposes antidumping duties on imports from South Korea of welded line pipe, typically used in the oil and gas industry. Commerce conducted a periodic duty review covering subject pipe that entered the U.S. between May 2015 and November 2016.
