Louisiana Judge Resigns, Asks for Forgiveness for Racial Slur

A Louisiana judge who was suspended after using a racial slur in a viral video has resigned.

“I take full responsibility for the hurtful words I used to describe the individual who burglarized the vehicles at my home,” former Lafayette City Court Judge Michelle Odinet said in a Dec. 31 letter to Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice John Weimer.

No one is seen in the video that became public last month, but a woman can be heard using the slur and then adding “like a roach.”
