There are no exigent circumstances that would justify allowing Louisiana to immediately begin enforcing an admitting privileges law against doctors who perform abortions in the state, a group of clinics told the Fifth Circuit.
Abortions are currently illegal in Louisiana after the US Supreme Court’s June 24 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturning Roe v. Wade.
