Louisiana Abortion Framework Headed Back to District Court

Abortion providers hoping to overturn Louisiana’s legal framework for regulating abortions must prove they have standing to challenge each and every provision of the scheme, the Fifth Circuit said Oct. 18.

The plaintiffs argued that the framework taken as a whole violates a woman’s right to have an abortion, and the district court ruled that it would be untenable to require them to establish standing to challenge each provision.
