LG Chem Can Be Sued in Ohio Over E-Cigarette Battery Explosion

South Korean battery maker LG Chem Ltd. failed to persuade the Ohio Supreme Court to let it out of a suit alleging a spare e-cigarette battery exploded in a man’s pants pocket and burned his leg.

LG argued the trial court lacked jurisdiction over it and asked the state high court to prohibit the judge from keeping it in the case. But the justices Wednesday dismissed the request 6–1.
