LexisNexis Data Sales Class Settlement Upheld

A certified class settlement over LexisNexis’s sale of personal data reports to debt collectors is valid, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit ruled Dec. 4 (Berry v. LexisNexis Risk & Info. Analytics Grp., Inc., 2015 BL 398550, 4th Cir., 14-2006, 12/4/15).

An appeal by three objecting groups comprising 27,495 class members was rejected in an opinion by Judge Pamela A. Harris.
