Former New York Mets pitcher Ron Darling defamed teammate Lenny Dykstra in a new book alleging the centerfielder hurled racial insults at a Boston Red Sox pitcher during the 1986 World Series, a new lawsuit alleges.
The April 9 complaint against Darling, St. Martin’s Press LLC, and MacMillan Publishing Group LLC, the publishers of Darling’s recent book, 108 Stitches: Loose Threads, Ripping Yarns, and the Darndest Characters from My Time in the Game, seeks damages on defamation and emotional distress claims.
