Legal Center Founder Fails in Appeal of Visa Fraud Conviction

A man was rightly convicted for helping clients submit fraudulent visa applications under the Violence Against Women Act, a divided federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

The psychological evaluations and leases Oluwatoyin Aborisade knowingly forged and submitted in his fraud scheme were indeed required for his clients’ fraudulent VAWA self-petition eligibility and not optional as Aborisade contends, Judge DeAndrea Gist Benjamin said in a majority opinion.

“We reject each of Aborisade’s challenges and affirm his conviction and sentence,” Benjamin said.
