A suspended Louisiana lawyer who used his father’s name and bar number on pleadings he filed for a client was disbarred.
To “maintain high standards of conduct, protect the public, preserve the integrity of the profession, and deter future misconduct,” George Allen Roth Walsh should be disbarred, but not permanently, the Louisiana Supreme Court said Tuesday.
The court rejected the disciplinary hearing committee’s recommendation for permanent disbarment.
Walsh agreed to represent a college in a lease dispute in 2019, even though he was suspended for practicing law while ineligible, the court said.
