Latham’s Hyatt Legal Fees Spike 57% Amid Hotel Buying Spree

Hyatt Hotels Corp. paid nearly $23.2 million last year to Latham & Watkins, a roughly 57% increase over the more than $14.7 million the global law firm received from the hospitality giant in 2023.

Latham’s fees were revealed by Hyatt in a proxy statement filed Tuesday. The Chicago-based hotel chain disclosed what it paid Latham because a corporate partner at the firm, Michael Pucker, is the brother-in-law of its billionaire executive chairman Thomas Pritzker.
