LAPD Officers Fired for Playing Pokemon Denied New Court Review

Two former Los Angeles police officers who were fired after an in-car video system recorded them playing Pokemon Go instead of responding to a robbery failed to convince the California Supreme Court Wednesday to consider whether the recordings were properly used in the decision to fire them.

Officers Louis Lozano and Eric Mitchell were in the vicinity of a robbery when a radio call attempted to call them to the scene, but recordings from a digital in-car video system revealed that they heard but ignored the call, and instead drove around catching virtual Pokemon on their phones, including a “Snorlax” ...
