A sergeant in the Los Angeles Police Department can proceed on his claims that he was retaliated against for testifying in a fellow officer’s discrimination lawsuit, after a state appellate court revived his suit Monday.
Anthony Doyen said he testified in a bias and retaliation lawsuit filed by an officer he worked with on the K-9 bomb unit, which resulted in a multi-million dollar jury verdict. He said he was shunned and excluded by his supervisors and other members of the bomb squad following his involvement in the case.
