The federal hourly minimum wage for covered federal contracts will be $13.30 or $17.75 effective Jan. 1, 2025, according to two Sept. 30 notices published by the US Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division.
The $17.75 rate, up from $17.20 for 2024, applies to both tipped and nontipped employees and generally covers contracts that were entered into, renewed, or extended on or after Jan. 30, 2022, according to one of the notices. Executive Order 14026 established the minimum wage rate for these covered contracts.
