LA Fitness Sued Over ADA Accessibility Requirements by US DOJ

Fitness International LLC, which does business as LA Fitness, is facing a federal lawsuit from the US Department of Justice alleging that the company violated Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by failing to ensure individuals with disabilities are not denied services at its facilities.

The United States alleges LA Fitness, which operates over 700 gym and fitness club facilities nationwide, failed to maintain equipment required to be accessible under the ADA, including pool lifts and elevators.
