Kirkland Tax Partner Jumps to Simpson Thacher in NY (Corrected)

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett added Kirkland & Ellis partner Russell Light to its tax practice in New York.

Light joined Kirkland in 2005 from Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobsen before becoming partner in 2007.

Light’s practice concentrates on tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, buyouts, private equity investments, and fund formation matters. He’s also advised on tax issues surrounding debt restructurings and other bankruptcy matters, as well as transactions involving special purpose acquisition companies and real estate investment trusts.
