An Arkansas Kia dealership failed to nab an early end to a US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission suit alleging the company fired a Black worker because he complained about race discrimination.
The agency “established an unbroken chain” between the worker’s protected bias reports and his termination, the US District Court for the Western District of Arkansas said, rejecting the dealership’s request for summary judgment. The opinion also gave the EEOC an early win on the sufficiency of its efforts to reach a deal with Crain Auto Holdings LLC and Crain K of NWA LLC before heading to court.
