Kendall Jenner-Endorsed 818 Tequila Brand Sued in Trademark Row

The maker of the Kendall Jenner-endorsed 818 Tequila brand was accused of violating the Tequila 512 trademark in a complaint filed in California federal court.

ClipBandits LLC said it began using the 512 brand in 2015. The complaint alleges that 818 Tequila “simply and blatantly” copied that branding after launching in 2021.

ClipBandits said it owns the trademark registration for the 512 branding and has a pending application for registration of its trade dress, which includes the “512 mark in black lettering inside a vertical yellow rectangle.”
