Big tech trade group NetChoice is asking the Ninth Circuit to uphold the block on a California privacy law that would dictate how online platforms address potential harms to minors.
The blocked law, the California Age-Appropriate Design Code Act, would censor speech and require platforms to collect more data on users, “countering the State’s claimed goal of protecting privacy,” NetChoice argued in a Wednesday evening filing to the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
