A man who authorities say was upset over a mass school shooting and the expected dismantling of abortion rights will go to trial next spring on charges of trying to assassinate US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Judge Peter Messitte of the US District Court for the District of Maryland set out a schedule on Tuesday for proceedings in Nicholas John Roske’s case, with the trial set to start June 9.
Messitte anticipated the trial would last just over a week, including jury selection.
