The judiciary asked a federal circuit court to uphold the dismissal of a lawsuit by a former public defender in North Carolina who said her rights were violated when she tried to report sexual harassment internally.
In its response brief filed Wednesday, the judiciary represented by the Justice Department told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit the correct forum for the claims would have been the internal complaint process that she pursued before deciding not to go forward with it.
