Judicial Security Measure Added to Must-Pass Senate Defense Bill

A bill that would protect federal judges’ personal information online was added to must-pass defense authorization legislation under Senate consideration, creating a potential path to final passage for the bipartisan measure.

“With the inclusion of the Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act of 2021 in the Senate substitute amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act of 2023, we are one step closer to protecting federal judges and their families,” Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), who sponsors the bill, said in a statement Tuesday.
