Judges Leave EEOC Pregnancy Bias Rule Suits to 5th Cir. for Now

District court judges in Texas and Louisiana will stop considering challenges to the EEOC’s pregnancy bias rule due to recent orders from the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Judge David C. Joseph of the US District Court for the Western District of Louisiana halted a Catholic group’s request to temporarily pause enforcement of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s rule while the Fifth Circuit mulls the legal scope of abortion’s inclusion in its Pregnant Workers Fairness Act regulation.
