U.S. District Judge Liam O’Grady recused in a lawsuit involving Amazon after disclosing that his wife owned $22,000 in the online retailer’s stock.
In a Monday order, O’Grady “reluctantly recused” himself from the case. The matter was reassigned to Judge Michael S. Nachmanoff.
The recusal comes after the Wall Street Journal reported that 131 federal judges had heard cases in which they or a family member had a financial interest.
