Judge Alan D. Albright of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas denied both Intel and VLSI’s competing motions for summary judgment Thursday, ruling the matter is “complex” and should be resolved in a jury trial “to assure a just result and facilitate appellate review.” Albright said the trial, set for May 27, will concern control of VLSI.
