Judge Rejects Bid for Nationwide USPS Rule on Mail-in Ballots

The U.S. Postal Service doesn’t need to enact a nationwide policy to speed the delivery of voters’ ballots in individual state elections, a federal district court in Washington said.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Tuesday deferred to the service’s district managers to determine how to ensure ballots are delivered in a timely way in state elections. Judge Emmet G. Sullivan declined to order the service to enact changes that voter advocacy group Vote Forward sought.
