DOJ Lawyers in Transgender Records Case Referred for Discipline

Justice Department lawyers involved in litigation over a subpoena for a Rhode Island hospital’s records on transgender minors will face a judicial disciplinary review after a judge accused the attorneys of misrepresenting and withholding information.

US District Judge Mary S. McElroy issued an order Friday initiating the Rhode Island federal court’s process for probing allegations of misconduct, citing “representations made to this Court by the respondents’ attorneys, as well as the findings” in an earlier order.
