Judge: Probe Found Intentional Misconduct By Federal Prosecutors in Sen. Stevens Case

An independent investigation into misconduct in the 2009 criminal case against Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) has concluded that federal prosecutors withheld evidence they should have shared with Stevens’s defense lawyers, according to a court order filed Nov. 21 (In re: Special Proceedings).

“At least some of the concealment was willful or intentional,” said the order by Judge Emmet Sullivan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
