A federal judge dismissed two lawsuits against the IRS for targeting conservative political organizations seeking tax-exempt status during the 2012 election cycle (True the Vote, Inc. v. IRS, D.D.C., 1:13-cv-00734, 10/23/14; Linchpins of Liberty v. United States, D.D.C., 1:13-cv-00777, 10/23/14).
The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia granted Oct. 23 the government’s motion to dismiss all counts in the lawsuits brought by True the Vote Inc., Linchpins of Liberty and 40 other organizations against the U.S., the Internal Revenue Service and several IRS and Treasury Department officials.
