A Washington federal judge blocked the Trump administration from requiring more than a dozen members of Congress to provide advanced notice to visit immigration detention facilities for oversight.
Judge Jia Cobb of the US District Court for the District of Columbia found Monday that the Department of Homeland Security’s renewed visitation policy likely violates oversight protections in annual spending bills that fund the department’s operations.
