Judge Affirms States’ Suit Over Offshore Wind Pause Can Proceed

A federal judge in Massachusetts published his written opinion Thursday confirming a lawsuit from states over the Trump administration’s pause on wind permitting can proceed in part.

Judge William G. Young of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts dismissed some claims from Alliance for Clean Energy New York and more than a dozen other states he deemed duplicative. Another citizen suit claim brought under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act was dismissed because the plaintiffs failed to pursue it, according to Young.
