Joseph Greenaway to Retire from Third Circuit Appeals Court (1)

Judge Joseph A. Greenaway will retire from the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in June, as the court is poised to become evenly split between Democratic and Republican appointees.

Greenaway is a 12-year veteran of the Philadelphia-based court and was elevated to the circuit by Barack Obama in 2010. He was originally appointed by Bill Clinton in 1996 to the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.

His retirement became public through the Administrative Office of the US Courts website listing future vacancies.
