An Iowa lawyer found to have transferred an estate case to another law firm without client consent received a 30-day suspension by the state’s highest court.
Jesse Michael Marzen also filed the couple’s tax returns knowing they were “materially incomplete,” and allowed the couple to use them for a loan application, the Iowa Supreme Court said Sept. 11.
The court determined that Marzen’s conduct “justifies more than a public reprimand,” which was the sanction recommended by its grievance commission.
