Inmate Loses Challenge to Sentence Based on Time Served

An inmate used the wrong process to challenge how the length of his prison sentence was calculated, the Seventh Circuit said March 11.

After Maurice Walker was jailed for being a felon in possession of a firearm, his phone calls were taped. Walker used the calls with associates and family members in a scheme to pay witnesses to lie about his charge.

Walker was then indicted for conspiracy to obstruct justice. He pleaded guilty to both counts.
