Indiana Trans Minor Care Ban in Limbo Following Oral Arguments

A federal appeals court should allow Indiana to enforce its ban on gender-affirming care for minors, a state attorney told three Seventh Circuit judges on Friday.

The state’s lawmakers, who heard evidence about the risks and benefits of the case, were in a better position than a court to decide if the dangers required prohibiting the use of puberty-blocking drugs and cross-sex hormones to treat gender dysphoria in minors, James Barta of the Indiana Attorney General’s Office said.
