Indiana must recognize children born into marriages between two women as born in wedlock and identify both wives as parents on their child’s birth certificate, the Seventh Circuit ruled.

The trial court didn’t err when it enjoined the state from enforcing the Indiana code in a manner that prevents the presumption of parenthood to be granted to female same-sex spouses of birth mothers, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said Friday.
