Indiana Ex-Assistant City Attorney Suspended for Drunk Driving

An Indiana lawyer who crashed into a utility pole while driving under the influence of alcohol was suspended for one year by the state’s highest court.

The Indiana Supreme Court noted this was Evan Buck Broderick’s fifth alcohol-related arrest in ordering him suspended Thursday without automatic reinstatement.

Broderick, assistant city attorney in Anderson, Indiana and son of the city’s mayor, was arrested in September 2018 after he fled the scene of the accident, the court said.

He pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated with endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident, it said.
