Companies that provide services to nursing homes can’t proceed with a lawsuit to force Illinois and managed care contractors to pay allegedly outstanding bills for residents’ care because Medicaid regulations don’t authorize them to sue on residents’ behalf, the Seventh Circuit said.
Nursing home consulting and services firms Bria Health Services LLC, Everest Care Group LLC, Grand Lifestyles LLC, and iCare Financial Services Inc. lacked standing to bring the suit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said Tuesday. The court affirmed the lower court’s dismissal of the complaint.
